A former co-worker of mine had been posting pictures of stuff she was getting for a fraction of the cost. I have always loved using coupons...I mean, come on...it's free money! She said that she was able to buy the STL Post Dispatch and then match those adds up with coupons in the paper as well. I also get a subscription to the All You magazine (which I love) and usually those magazines have well over $50 worth of coupons.
Since we are on a budget (while I'm just working p/t and going to school) I figured if I spent just some extra time on coupons, we could save a lot of money on stuff we already use.
In addition, many of the articles I read on couponing (not sure if that's a word) did say that at first, your initial OOP (out of pocket) will be a little more, but in the end you will save hundreds of dollars by not having to buy just as needed. Rather, buy when you don't need and it's on sale.
Here is what I got today from Walgreens:

2 Drano's : They were on sale for 2/$7 and I had a .55 coupon and then you get a $1 reward for next time. Total OOP: $5.45 or $2.72 a piece (HUGE bargain!)
2000FL : On sale for 3.50 and I had a $1 coupon: OOP 2.50
Colgate toothbrush: 3.49 with a .75 coupon: OOP $2.74
Colgate toothpaste: $2.99 with a .75 coupon: OOP 2.24
Rev Makeup: $6.99 a piece: Rev had BGGO 1/2 off and I had a $2.00 coupon OOP: 8.49 ( a savings of over $5.00 on stuff I use everyday...crazy!!
Wheaties: 1.99 with .75 coupon: For 2, 1.24 a piece
Olay body wash: On sale for 5.99 with a 1.00 coupon: 4.99
Schick Razors : On sale for 8.49 it had a 1.00 off attached and I had a 2.00 coupon: OOP $5.49 (awesome deal)
Total: $44.93 (without coupons)
With Coupons Total: $28.89
For stuff we use all the time, it was worth the few minutes of cutting and finding the deals to save almost $17.00!!!
